The Sinking of Titanic: Who is to Blame?

Among the history of all sailing ships in the world, the RMS Titanic is the most memorable one indeed. People have been all eyes on the ship from its making until its first voyage, since it is marked to be the unsinkable ship in 1912. But after it sank in April 15, 1912, people are still asking out of curiosity: Who is to blame?

The investigators presented many angles for the culprit and many have been blamed. One of them is the captain, John Edward Smith. The trip was supposed to be his retirement trip. During the voyage, he had been notified more than seven iceberg warnings and ignored them. Investigators were saying that the sinking could have been prevented if he ordered the Titanic to slow down. Also, the investigators blamed the shipbuilders for using a substandard iron rivet. Millions of rivets where used to hold the ship together but after the impact the iceberg caused, the rivets break and the ship?s parts came falling apart. These are only two of the culprits presented by the investigators of the Titanic. But whoever is to blame, the tragedy had already marked its way to history and many lives had been already spared.
